What about my intellectual property?
You keep your IP at all time. When your idea wins, we assist you in signing an agreement with the client for the transfer of IP. Therefore if your idea is not chosen, you keep the IP. You can even submit the same idea again for another client.
Let us be very clear: if you or we suspect a client of using your idea without paying for it, we will start a procedure. We value IP more than anything, it is a creative mind most important asset.
So are you charging me for anything?
No! Briefingroom is completely free for creatives. The client pays a small fee on every briefing. This covers our costs. We will never charge you anything. Not even when you win.
I am currently working in an ad agency. I don't want my boss to know I'm doing this.
We value your privacy, so the names of the people submitting ideas are NEVER disclosed. You will however need to become fan of Briefingroom on facebook, or member of the linkedin group. If you really have a problem with this, let us know and we'll deal with this in a more private way.
Are only advertising people allowed?
Of course not, we reward ideas, not job titles.
Briefingroom's briefings are however only for real persons, like in "individuals". Agencies are not allowed.
Why do I need to become member of Briefingroom on facebook or linkedin?
This is to check if you are who you say you are. We have a strict policy concerning the disclosure of briefings. We don't want the competitor's marketing manager checking in.
I am currently working in an ad agency. What will happen if I win?
First of all congratulations! You get paid!
Second, we'll propose to do an article about you, but it will be YOUR decision to stay anonymous or not.
I am a student, an employee or unemployed and I get €10.000. Do I have to declare taxes for it?
Know that we're obliged to declare whom we're paying the money to. So if you don't declare it, it's possible the suits notice it after a couple of months/years and come to get you.
I am self-employed and I've won €10.000, can I send an invoice?
It's your choice to invoice it or put it on your person. But yes, you can send an invoice.
